The ZTL of Bari is divided into three different types of streets

Red streets (hook): route identified within the perimeter of the Limited Traffic Zone on which circulation is free (i.e. allowed to all vehicle users, with and without a permit) exclusively on weekdays from 07:00 to 20:00; in all other periods, i.e. from 20:00 to 07:00 on weekdays and from 00:00 to 24:00 on public holidays, circulation is allowed only to those holding a permit.

Blue streets: street on which circulation is allowed every day from 00:00 to 24:00 only to vehicles holding a permit. Parking is allowed every day from 00:00 to 24:00 only to vehicles holding a permit and exclusively in the areas identified by appropriate horizontal and vertical road signage

Green streets: street on which circulation is allowed exclusively to mopeds, motorcycles and bicycles.

Permitted vehicles

The access restriction for the ZTL of Bari applies only to cars: mopeds and motorcycles may enter even without authorization.

Authorized subjects

The following are exempt from the access restrictions of the ZTL of Bari:

  • vehicles serving disabled persons,
  • rescue vehicles,
  • police vehicles,
  • vehicles of doctors and veterinarians on urgent service,
  • emergency response vehicles,
  • public utility vehicles,
  • taxis,
  • Residents
  • holders of parking spaces within the ZTL
  • Journalists
  • Funeral companies

Disabled access

The orange permit issued to persons with limited or impaired mobility allows vehicles serving such persons to circulate and park freely in the ZTL of Bari, so it is not necessary to request a permit.
