Schedule

  • Sundays and holidays: transit ban from 10:00 to 24:00;
  • Winter period (standard time): transit ban from 19:30 to 22:00;
  • Summer period (daylight saving time): transit ban from 19:30 to 24:00;

In addition to the regulatory vertical signage required by the current Highway Code, the Municipal Administration has installed informational illuminated panels.

The panels display the following wording:

  • GATE ACTIVE - TRANSIT PERMITTED FOR AUTHORIZED VEHICLES ONLY;
  • GATE NOT ACTIVE - TRANSIT PERMITTED FOR ALL

Non-residents with special needs may transit the Altamura ZTL upon requesting a temporary permit from the municipal police command.

Permitted vehicles

There is no differentiation between types of authorized vehicles, and therefore motorcycles and mopeds may not enter the Altamura ZTL unless explicitly authorized.

Authorized subjects

The following are subject to an exemption for access to the Altamura ZTL:

  • vehicles serving disabled persons,
  • rescue vehicles,
  • police vehicles,
  • vehicles of doctors and veterinarians on urgent duty,
  • rapid response service vehicles,
  • public utility vehicles,
  • taxis,
