Frequently asked questions
What does TollTracker actually do?
It warns you in real time about speed and red-light cameras, average-speed zones, restricted and low-emission city zones, mobile cameras, police checks and road hazards — so you're not caught out by a fine you didn't see coming. More →
Does it replace Google Maps or Apple Maps?
No. TollTracker is a companion that runs in the background while you navigate with your usual app. How that works →
Where does it work?
Across 22 European countries and growing, deepest in Italy, Germany and Bulgaria. Explore the live map or the coverage page.
Will it warn me while my phone is locked or I'm using navigation?
Yes — alerts are spoken and on-screen and work in the background. Make sure you've granted location and notification permissions and disabled battery optimisation. Set-up guide →
Why didn't I hear an alert?
The most common cause is the phone being on silent, or the app being killed in the background by battery optimisation. Check both — see Set up & first drive.
Does it drain my battery?
TollTracker is built to be light — it drops into a low-power sleep mode when you're not near anything and wakes as you approach a danger. For it to run reliably in the background, turn off battery optimisation (Android) / keep Low Power Mode off while driving (iOS).
Do you sell my data?
No. Tracking runs on your device, and we don't upload your trips or GPS traces. Full privacy page →
Does it help me break the law?
No. TollTracker is pro-driver and anti-surprise. It helps you stay aware and within the limits — it doesn't help you speed or evade enforcement.
How do I pay, and how do I cancel?
Everything is handled in the app through the App Store or Google Play, including a free trial. Plans & payments →
How do I report a mobile camera or hazard?
Open the report-a-live-event panel, pick the type and confirm — it appears on the map for nearby drivers. Live alerts & hazards →
