Prato ZTL

The ZTL of Prato is in operation every day of the year and is divided into two areas:

• Permanent, active 24 hours a day
• Daytime, active from 07:30 to 18:30

• Piazza Sant'Antonino at the corner with Piazza Santa Maria in Castello
• Via Ricasoli at the corner with Piazza San Francesco, toward Piazza del Comune
• Via Guizzelmi at the corner with Via del Vergaio, toward Piazza Duomo
• Via Bartolini at the corner with Piazza Sant'Elisabetta, toward Via del Serraglio
• Via San Jacopo at the corner with Via Modesti, toward Via Santa Trinità
• Via dei Tintori at the corner with Piazza Lippi, toward the Metastasio Theater

The access ban for the ZTL of Prato applies to all categories of vehicles, and therefore mopeds and motorcycles may transit only if holding a category 6 permit, with no display requirement, and must be parked exclusively in private spaces.

Transit and parking in the ZTL of Prato are allowed for the following categories of vehicles:

• urban line buses in service, diverted for reasons of impassability of ordinary routes located outside the ZTL, excluding parking;
• vehicles used for mechanical street cleaning and operational vehicles of the contracted waste collection company and of companies subcontracted by it.
• taxis and hire cars with driver (N.C.C.);
• vehicles of the Armed Forces, Police, fire department,
• ambulances and rescue vehicles in general and Civil Protection vehicles;
• vehicles bearing identifying signs of security institutes and armored cash transport vehicles, available to companies authorized by the Public Security authority;
• vehicles registered for the specific transport referred to in letter h), paragraph 1, art. 203 of the Highway Code Implementing Regulation.

Holders of a disabled permit resident in the Municipality of Prato must report once to the Permits Office 1 (one) license plate of the vehicle used, the owner's details and the type of vehicle.
If a different vehicle is used than the one registered, the license plate, permit details, driver's details, vehicle type and period of use must be reported in advance.
Holders of the aforementioned permit are authorized to transit and park in the ZTL.
Parking is allowed in the designated spaces identified by appropriate signage or, in the absence or unavailability of these, in any other area provided it does not obstruct or endanger traffic. Parking is not allowed in the following squares: Piazza del Comune, Piazza Duomo, Piazza Buonamici and Piazza S. Maria in Castello.
