ZTL A
Ban on circulation and parking, for unauthorized vehicles, from 08:30 to 12:00 and from 17:00 to 20:00 on weekdays.
Mopeds and motorcycles are exempt from the ban and may transit normally.
ZTL B
Ban on circulation and parking, for unauthorized vehicles, from 08:00 to 24:00 every day of the year.
All motor vehicles are included in the ban.
From 24 October 2016 from 11:00 to 14:00 and after 16:00 the ZTL B will be fully pedestrianized, so not even residents will be able to enter

For entry for temporary needs into the ZTL of Arezzo, daily permits can be requested.
These are short-duration accesses during the day that are granted when there is exceptionally an actual need to access the ZTL with a vehicle for one of the reasons listed below:
a) Freight transport
b) Access to the S. Giuseppe clinic
c) Access to medical practices for physiotherapy and specialist treatment
d) Access for ceremonies (baptisms – weddings - funerals)
e) Events, fairs and markets f) medical exams/treatment for vulnerable users
Access is allowed upon notification to the Municipal Police or the Sportello Unico, in which the following must be declared:
1) the reason why temporary access is necessary
2) the personal details of the person making the notification
3) the streets to be entered and where parking is intended
4) the license plate of the vehicle with which access will be made
The notification is valid for a single license plate. The vehicle's plate may belong to one of the following categories according to the classification under art. 47 of the Highway Code:

category L.
category M1
category N1.
category N2,

In the ZTL of Arezzo Type "B" the circulation of any motor vehicle is banned, so mopeds and motorcycles are also excluded from transit.

In the ZTL of Arezzo Type "A" mopeds and motorcycles may circulate

Vehicles with exclusively electric propulsion are authorized to transit and park within ZTL A and ZTL B under the following conditions, without needing to obtain or display any type of stamped permit:

Regarding parking within the Limited Traffic Zones of Arezzo, the permit holder must comply with the signage and with the provisions of the national regulations in force.

Holders of a disabled permit issued by another municipality, although authorized to access the Limited Traffic Zones under the current "New Highway Code", must notify in advance the Arezzo Municipal Police Command of:

- the vehicle's license plate;

- the number of the national permit and the name of the municipality that issued it, preferably using the toll-free number 800-211155, or alternatively by sending a fax to 0575-377560 or calling the following Command switchboard numbers: 0575-377577 and 0575-377590.

In case of urgent need to access the Z.T.L., even if unable to give advance notification in the manner indicated above, transit is nonetheless allowed provided the same notification is made within the following 48 hours.

Should the need to access the Z.T.L. of the City of Arezzo be daily or otherwise frequent, an application may be submitted in plain paper form to the Municipal Police Command for the vehicle's details to be entered on the "white list", i.e. a database containing the license plate numbers of vehicles authorized to transit within the Limited Traffic Zones.

Vehicles used in the service of disabled persons are not required to comply with time limits if left parked in time-limited parking areas.

To obtain the "disabled permit" referred to in art. 381 fig. V.4 of Presidential Decree no. 495/92, the person concerned, or a delegated relative, must submit an application at the Sportello Unico. This application must be accompanied by the medical certification issued by the Medical-Legal Office of the Local Health Authority of Arezzo, located on Via Curtatone (tel. 0575-255991), showing the significantly reduced walking capacity (Certificate for the mobility of disabled persons).

The authorization may be permanent, valid for 5 years. Renewal of this authorization occurs upon submission of a certificate from the treating physician confirming the persistence of the health conditions that led to its issuance.

The authorization may be provisional, with temporary validity. The relevant medical certification must specify the expected duration of the disability. Access to the ZTL is always allowed for vehicles in the service of persons with limited mobility specifically authorized by the Municipal Police through notification to be sent no later than 48 hours after access.
