For special needs and for limited periods, temporary access authorizations for the ZTL of Sarzana may be issued, even for a yearly duration, potentially renewable.
Normally, they are issued for special and unavoidable needs such as loading/unloading goods, transport of valuables or samples, the setting up and management of construction sites, house moves, weddings (max 3 vehicles), funerals (max 3 vehicles).

The temporary period may be extended in line with provisions contained in authorization/concession measures issued by the competent Municipal Offices. The following may also obtain a temporary authorization, even yearly:

1) holders of a garage or private parking space (garages, courtyards etc.) located within the perimeter of the ZTL, who may be authorized to transit in the ZTLs within the limits of the first paragraph of the previous article, while parking may only take place within private property.

2) those domiciled in the ZTL for the period of domiciliation

4) Those domiciled in the ZTL area who are holders of, or live with the holder of, a registered rental agreement relating to a property for residential use.

For special needs to access the ZTL of Sarzana, the Municipal Police of Sarzana is authorized to assess the possibility of issuing authorizations.

There are 3 automatic access control devices for the ZTL of Sarzana, installed on:

Via Torrione San Francesco;
Porta Romana;
Via Gramsci.

Vehicule permise

The access ban for the ZTL of Sarzana applies to all unauthorized vehicles, and therefore mopeds and motorcycles cannot enter without a permit.

Persoane autorizate

Transit in the ZTL of Sarzana is authorized through the issuance of an annual permit to the following categories of people:

1) being resident in the ZTL;

2) being the owner of a property for residential use not rented out and located within the

perimeter of the ZTL;

3) being a commercial operator or artisan with warehouses or storage facilities within

the ZTL;

4) being the owner of a private parking space (box, garage, courtyard,

etc.) located in the perimeter of the ZTL;

5) performing the healthcare function of general practitioners (family doctors)

and carrying out home visits within the ZTLs;

6) vehicles intended for the delivery of urgent medicines;

a) vehicles used by Companies that provide public services. In this case, the vehicles used must be identifiable in some way (logo on the body, visible permit etc.)
b) vehicles owned by the Municipality of Sarzana;

c) vehicles of the Province of La Spezia or the Prefecture, carrying out institutional services and limited to the time necessary;
d) taxis, hire cars with driver and school buses in service;
e) company vehicles of private Security Institutes.

f) vehicles used by Law Enforcement Forces;
g) rescue vehicles;
h) vehicles used by persons with disabilities, marked with the appropriate permit.

To facilitate access to the center for disabled persons, a toll-free number 800134039 has been set up, which can be contacted to provide the details needed to identify the vehicle and obtain immediate entry into the database in order to enter the ZTL of Sarzana with complete peace of mind.
