Lithuania's average-speed network on the main state roads.
Lithuania times whole stretches of its main state roads: there, average-speed systems outnumber spot cameras, all marked by the sign "Automatinė eismo kontrolė". Motorways drop from 130 to 110 km/h for the winter, and cars pay no road charge.
Fixed spot cameras and a larger network of average-speed systems cover the main state roads, marked by sign 636 "Automatinė eismo kontrolė". The same cameras check insurance, roadworthiness and the road charge. Police add mobile radar and unmarked cars.
From 1 November to 31 March motorways and expressways are limited to 110 km/h. Summer tyres are illegal from 10 November, whatever the weather.
Cars pay no road charge, but vans need an e-vinjetė on tolled state roads, checked by the cameras. From 1 January 2027 Via Toll charges vans per km instead.
Driving onto the Curonian Spit (Neringa) costs €50 per car from 20 June to 20 August and €10 the rest of the year.
