Speed cameras, average speed and enforcement zones, always up to date.
Latvia's speed cameras and growing average-speed network.
Latvia checks speed with fixed cameras at published sites, mobile radars and, since 2023, a growing set of average-speed sections on its main roads. Cars pay no road tolls, but Jūrmala charges a daily entry fee.
Latvia's first average-speed section opened on the A5 Riga bypass in August 2023. Sections now run on stretches of main roads such as the A1, A2, A3, A6, A9 and A10, with more on the way. Hold the limit for the whole stretch, not just at the gantries.
€5 a day to drive into Jūrmala, all year. Cameras read plates at the entry points; buy the pass by 23:59 the same day. Electric cars are exempt.
The same excess costs twice as much past a town sign: 21–30 km/h over is €40 on the open road but €80 in town.
Parts of the A2, A6, A8 and A10 are signed 100–110 km/h from mid-April and drop back to 90 from mid-October.
