Belgium's Trajectcontrole (Trajectory Control) average-speed system is particularly prevalent in tunnels where instantaneous speed cameras are impractical. The Brussels Ring (R0) tunnel network is among the most monitored in Europe.

  • Motorway: 120 km/h, rural: 70 km/h, urban: 50 km/h (30 zones common)
  • Parking on hard shoulder: only with hazard lights AND warning triangle
  • Vignette not required; no tolls on Belgian motorways
  • Speed camera warning apps legal, but may change. Verify before driving.
