Monte Argentario ZTL

The ZTL of corso Umberto I is active every day from 18:00 to 02:00 the following day

The ZTL of Pilarella is active every day from June 13 to September 13 from 18:00 to 02:00 in the morning.

• Piazza Vittorio Emanuele (Porto S.Stefano)
• Corso Umberto I checkpoint 1 (Porto S.Stefano)
• Corso Umberto I checkpoint 2 (Porto S.Stefano)

In the ZTLs established in the municipality of Monte Argentario, mopeds may not enter unless they have authorization.

The persons who may enter the ZTL of Porto Santo Stefano in the municipality of Monte Argentario without authorization are:

• Vehicles in service with the State Police, Carabinieri, Traffic Police, Municipal Police, Guardia di Finanza, Forestry Corps, Armed Forces;
• Rescue vehicles, ambulances and the Fire Brigade;
• Vehicles of the urban public transport service;

The vehicles listed below may access the ZTL without a permit, but must report the plate number of the vehicle used to the Municipal Police Command within 48 hours of transit:

• Vehicles used for public service (taxis and private hire with driver);
• Vehicles used by stallholders in the daily market of Piazza Don A. Bastianini and by occasional traders;
• Vehicles used for transporting valuables and precious items;
• Funeral vehicles;
• Vehicles of the State Administration, Regions, Provinces and municipalities;
• Vehicles equipped for public service needs;
• Vehicles of doctors on urgent home visits, for the time strictly necessary;
• Vehicles serving disabled persons holding the permit under DPR no.503 of 24/07/1996.

The following may enter the ZTLs of Monte Argentario if holding a permit

a) Registered residents of the ZTL of Monte Argentario

b) Owners, tenants or occupants of a dwelling in the ZTL.

c) Child (or their spouse), spouse, parent (non-resident) of

residents.

d) Children, spouse, parent of non-resident owners.

e) Tenant of an apartment owned by residents or by a non-resident.

f) Owners of commercial businesses and public establishments and professional offices having their registered and/or operating headquarters in the ZTL of Monte Argentario.

g) Owners, tenants or occupants of a garage or private parking space located in the ZTL.

Vehicles used to transport disabled persons under art.188 paragraph 1) of Legislative Decree no.285 of 30/04/92 "New Highway Code" and the blind in accordance with art.12 "Special Permit" under D.P.R. no.503 of 24/07/96, holding a special permit issued by their municipality of residence, may enter the ZTL of Monte Argentario after reporting their plate numbers in advance or notifying entry within 48 hours following the transit.
