The restrictions concerning the Limited Traffic Zone of Casale Monferrato apply 24 hours a day and throughout the year.
On via Roma, in the stretch between piazza Mazzini and via Cavour, vehicle traffic is prohibited from 17:00 to 19:30 every day, even for permit holders.
On all weekdays from Monday to Friday, a ban on motor vehicle circulation is in force in the environmental ZTLs as follows:
- from 08:00 to 13:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00 for all motor vehicles, including those of residents and those used for public transport service and its supplementary services, not compliant with EURO 3 standards, with the additional requirement for Diesel vehicles of being fitted with particulate containment systems;
- from 13:00 to 16:00 for all motor vehicles, excluding those of residents and those used for public transport service and its supplementary services compliant with EURO 3 standards, with the additional requirement for Diesel vehicles of being fitted with particulate containment systems.
This rule applies to new circulation permits and to the renewal of permits valid as of April 18, 2011.

Circulation within the ZTL of Casale Monferrato is generally prohibited; exempt from the ban are:

Anyone with an extraordinary need to access the ZTL of Casale Monferrato, and unable to request the standard temporary daily permit due to the unavailability of the offices responsible for issuing it because they are closed, may do so provided they report to the Municipal Police Command, in writing and within 48 hours of access, the plate number of the vehicle that entered, along with supporting documentation attesting to the unavoidable and exceptional need to access the ZTL of Casale Monferrato.
The same procedure must be followed by holders of disabled permits issued by other municipalities who are unable to report, at the time, via the dedicated toll-free number, the plate number of the vehicle that entered.
