3) periodic market operators who are "stallholders" regularly registered with the Economic Development Department, which transmits to the Permits Office the list of vehicle license plate numbers used to operate the market in the areas designated for it located inside the

Z.T.L. or the Pedestrian Area. Access may take place only during market days and according to the route indicated on the permit;

4) casual operators, not "stallholders" regularly registered with the Economic Development Department, but who are permitted to carry out sales activity on the specific day. Within 48 hours of access, not including Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, the vehicle owner and/or the licence holder, who used the vehicle, must obtain the permit from the Permits Office;

5) civil and religious weddings, for which up to a maximum of 3 permits may be issued, on which the route to reach the venue of the ceremony must be indicated;

7) filming and/or photo shoots, upon request for authorization to the Mayor's Office by the applicant;

8) setting up exhibitions;

9) temporary replacement of a broken-down or damaged vehicle, upon surrender of the permit originally issued to the vehicle.

There is no differentiation between types of authorized vehicles: mopeds may enter the ZTL of Lucca even if not authorized, while transit is barred in the pedestrian zone.

Throughout the ZTL of Lucca, access is barred for animal-drawn vehicles and trucks with a total laden mass exceeding 3.5 tonnes.

This category includes vehicles owned by or serving persons recognized as disabled.

Anyone entering the ZTL of Lucca occasionally, and therefore who has not made use of the option referred to in the previous point, before entering the Z.T.L. must always call the toll-free number 800 94 43 53 to report the license plate of the vehicle used to enter, as well as the number of the disabled permit used, in order to be entered on the list of those authorized to access.

If for technical reasons (only in cases where the toll-free number cannot be reached) it was not possible to communicate the above data before access, the driver of the unauthorized vehicle, within 48 hours of access, not including Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, must regularize it.

Different rules apply for the transport of medicines and perishable goods.

Transport of medicines:

Should access to the Z.T.L. take place for urgent reasons without prior authorization (for example, transport of life-saving medicines, oxygen cylinders for therapeutic purposes and urgent medicines), within 48 hours of access, not including Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, the vehicle owner must regularize the transit by notifying it in writing, by fax or email, to the Metro Control Centre, specifying the permit number, license plate, reason for urgency and destination.
