A special temporary transit permit/pass for access to the Montelupo Fiorentino ZTL may be granted by the Municipal Police Headquarters following a documented request, for the following reasons:
- Vehicles accompanying religious events (weddings and funerals)
- House moves
- Installers of temporary structures for events
- Craftsmen, repair companies, construction companies carrying out work in the ZTL
- Citizens with family members who need assistance in the ZTL area

The ban on transit in the Montelupo Fiorentino ZTL applies to every type of vehicle, therefore mopeds and motorcycles cannot enter unless expressly authorized.
