For occasional and temporary operations to be carried out inside the Agrigento ZTL, the Local Police Command may consider granting a temporary permit for transit and operational parking related to the needs stated by the applicant and for the time strictly necessary.

The following cases fall within this category:

To obtain the daily access permit, the applicant must submit a request to the ZTL Pass Office 7 days in advance, including by fax or email, attaching a copy of the vehicle's registration document, as well as any other document proving entitlement to the authorization, in relation to the provisions of Article 7. The permit will be issued in good time, under the conditions set for each category.

In cases of unforeseeable urgency, the request may be submitted in derogation of the above deadline, but no later than 48 hours afterwards.

To obtain the temporary authorization, the applicant must submit a written request to the ZTL Pass Office, attaching a copy of the registration document and the specific documentation required for each category. Fulfilment of the requirements for each authorization must be declared by the applicant through self-certification, in the forms and manner required by current regulations.

Access to the Agrigento ZTL is monitored by a camera located on via Atenea at Porta di Ponte.

Access is therefore also banned for mopeds and motorcycles unless expressly authorized.

Personnes autorisées

The following categories of vehicles may be authorized to access the Agrigento ZTL:

Repair service vehicles for operational needs or emergency response;
Valuables transport;
Process server.

Holders of disabled permits who need access to the Agrigento ZTL, and only where there is no alternative access, must submit a request on plain paper stating the plate number and type of vehicle most frequently used and the number of the disabled permit they hold, for the data to be entered and the vehicle permanently validated in the electronic control system, on the white list, without issuance of a pass.

Only one vehicle may be validated, and it will be entitled to transit and park in the spaces reserved for it.

In cases of urgency, holders of a disabled pass may nonetheless access with any vehicle without prior validation request, provided that they submit to the Local Police Command within 48 hours the documentation justifying the transit, which, if deemed valid, will immediately suspend the fining procedure.

If no justification is provided, the fining procedure will be initiated in accordance with the Highway Code.

Chargement / déchargement

The ban on transit and parking remains in place for vehicles with a fully laden capacity over 3.5 t.

Any exceptions must be specifically authorized. In such cases, the interested owner must submit an appropriate application to the Local Police Command, requesting transit or occupation of public land, which will forward the vehicle's details, authorized for transit only or for transit and temporary parking, to the relevant office for registration on the list of authorized vehicles. For the whole duration of the parking, the occupation permit must be kept clearly visible on the windscreen so that enforcement officers can check the parking is in order.

For vehicles with a capacity not exceeding 3.5 t. for stops limited to 15 minutes, an occupation of public land permit is not required; it will be sufficient to request the temporary pass from the relevant office. In this case a pass valid for one day will be issued.
